Saxophonist and Boise native Brent Jensen presents a "Riverside Reunion" featuring friends both old (saxophonist Sandon Mayhew, pianist Chuck Smith, drummer Jim Kassis) and new (bassist Tim Green) in an evening of jazz music. Brent and Jim played a six day per week summer season poolside gig at the Riverside in the mid-1980s. Sandon and Brent have known each other since their days in the BSU Jazz Band in the late 1970s. Brent and Chuck had a "house gig" in a downtown Boise restaurant in the early 1990s. When Tim Green moved to Boise a year ago, Seattle bassist Jeff Johnson suggested he give Brent a call to help him get connected with musicians on the Boise jazz scene. The five musicians will perform in a variety of settings from duo to quintet.
